Flying Free Equitherapy, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help children with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities achieve self assurance, strength, a willingness to learn life skills, and increased ability to communicate and improve overall health, through the use of Equine Assisted Therapy.
Equitherapy is a form of therapy assisted by horses that means "treatment with the help of a horse". The freedom of being on a horse can help by simply inspiring confidence through the control such movements can induce. Additionally, the rhythmic and repetitive motion of a horse's gait provides many sensory benefits. Flying Free is a member center of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association located in Galveston County, Texas.
