The Homes of St. Mark is a charitable children's services agency. Originally founded through the benevolent works of a small group of women under the wing of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, it was chartered as a separate non-profit organization in 1957 although they are not affiliated with any church or religion.
The mission of Homes of St. Mark is to provide children and families with alternative services for family formation, preservation and change. They believe that every child deserves a nurturing and permanent family. As an agency they serve foster and adoptive children that have been removed from their parents and are in the temporary conservatorship of the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. There are two Homes of St. Mark programs: Foster Care Services and Older Child Adoption Services, both designed to provide families for children in need.
